When working with a Google Ads agency, they must be granted access to Google Ads so we can begin to audit the account or build your Google Ads campaigns.

Here is how to grant admin access to a Google Ads account.

Adding a User to a Google Ads Account

To add a user to your Google Ads account, go to ads.google.com, click the blue Start now button, and sign-in to the proper email account.

Click TOOLS & SETTINGS then, under SETUP, click Account access and security.

Click the Blue + Button to add a new user to the Google Ads account.

This will bring up an invitation form with a few options.

  1. Add the email of the user you would like to add to your Google Ads account.
  2. Select the access level you would like to grant them.

Google Ads Access Levels

Email Only allows the user to receive notification emails and reports.

Read Only access allows the user email only access, plus they can grant email-only access, browse campaigns, recommendations, tools, and account settings.

Standard access grants read only access, plus it allows the user to edit the account and its campaign.

Admin access grants stand access, plus it allows the user to manage account access and manager accounts.

After you select the access level, click SEND INVITATION.

Google will email the user letting them know they have been granted access to the Google Ads account. The user will now need to accept the invitation to complete the request.

Approving a Google Ads Access Request

Alternatively, the user can request access to your Google Ads account. To do so, provide the user with the Google Ads account number then Accept the Request through the email generated by the request.

When you click the Accept Request button within the email, you will be redirected to the MANAGERS tab within the Google Ads account. Simply click ACCEPT to complete the request.

You have now successfully granted access to your Google Ads account; the user will now be able to audit your Google Ads account or begin to optimize your campaigns.

If you are looking for a PPC agency to optimize or audit your Google Ads account, feel free to schedule a free consultation with our Google Ads experts.
