Linking Google Ads to Google Search Console allows digital marketers a look into how their ads and organic search listings perform, both alone and together. By linking Google Ads to Search Console, you can see how often a page is showing organically or which search terms trigger both paid and organic listings. This data can help drive marketing decisions like whether you’d like to adjust budgets or keywords based on your organic results.

Let’s walk through how to link your Google Ads account to your Google Search Console account.

 

How to Link Google Ads to Google Search Console

  1. Login to Google Ads.
  2. Select Tools & Settings.
  3. Click Setup.
  4. Select Linked accounts.
  5. Under Search Console, click DETAILS.
  6. Next select LINK.
  7. Enter the URL of the website you would like to link to Google Ads.
  • You must have Admin access to the Google Ads account you are trying to link to Google Search Console.
  • You must have an existing Google Search Console account set up to link it to Google Ads.
  • You must be the owner of the Google Search Console account to link it to Google Ads.
  • A request for access will be sent to the website owner to verify the linking of the accounts.

8. Click Continue.

How to Unlink Google Search Console from Google Ads

  1. Login to Google Ads.
  2. Select Tools & Settings.
  3. Click Setup.
  4. Select Linked accounts.
  5. Under Search Console, click DETAILS.
  6. Find the account you’d like to unlink, then under Actions, select REMOVE.
