For this month’s Socium Spotlight, we’re thrilled to feature Paid Media Specialist, Emily Frenkel!

Looking back on your first day at Socium, how did your expectations compare to the reality of your role?
I never pictured myself managing multiple accounts independently and knowing how to problem-solve as well as I can now. Digital Marketing was always appealing to me, but I had no idea how much there was to learn about the field.

What has your time at Socium taught you about the marketing/advertising industry?
I’ve learned that the marketing industry is ever-changing and it’s important to never be too comfortable with the current knowledge I have. Socium has created a community that makes me feel comfortable asking questions and sharing information that may be useful to others.

What drew you to Socium?
The company values of transparency and no ego company principle stood out to me the most because I thrive in environments where I feel appreciated.

What did you do before coming to Socium?
Sales at a fintech start-up, I also dabbled in event planning and journalism there.

What piece of advice would you offer fellow digital marketers?
Stay on top of industry updates, attend seminars hosted by Google, Facebook, etc, and never stop asking questions.

What’s something on your bucket list?
Bungee jumping.

How do you like your coffee?
I like my coffee to taste like coffee ice cream, lots of milk and sugar.

What has been your favorite event/happy hour at Socium?
KBBQ to wrap up our Summer Fridays was a great time since some people had never tried KBBQ before.
