Socium Spotlight: Francesca Bacarossi

You’ve probably heard us say that people aren’t Socium’s most important asset; the right people are Socium’s most important asset. That’s why we started our Socium Spotlight series, where we shine a light on the diverse and unique personalities that make up the Socium team.

This month, we’re psyched to shine a light on Francesca Bacarossi, our newly promoted Pod Lead for the Paid Search department! 

What made you choose this career path?
I originally studied PR and Sociology, as I’ve always been interested in people. After going to grad school for Marketing, I was torn over what to do next – there were so many career paths to choose from it was overwhelming. One day by chance, a friend reached out about a position at an agency in NY. I decided right there that it was now or never, packed my bags, and left FL to start my career. Now here we are!

What made Socium stand out when you were looking for your next adventure? Finish this sentence: ‘You can learn a lot about Socium by looking at its ____.’
People. Everyone was welcoming since day 1, always offering support and constantly helping myself and others be the best that they can be. A day doesn’t go by that I am not thankful for working with such a bright, dedicated, and genuine group of people who love what they do. It’s refreshing and exciting to see what I can learn from them.

Have you always wanted to work in the marketing/advertising industry? Why or why not?
Yes. I love the challenge of being in an industry that changes every day, where learning is never stagnant, and where thinking outside the box is a must to help brands reach their goals. Never a dull day! 

What piece of advice would you offer fellow digital marketers?
Don’t be afraid to voice your opinion. It may sound cliché, but people find it easier to stay silent more often than not. Next time you have a meeting/discussion and the floor is open to ideas or recommendations: speak up. Even if you think your opinion might conflict with something someone else suggested or may not be “as good as theirs.” I promise you, losing that fear can lead to great things.

What do you do outside of work? What did you receive as your favorite food when you joined the Socium team?
Mini brownies, because I love all things chocolate! It was very sweet of the Socium team to send an entire box full of them when I first started
