For this month’s Socium Spotlight, we’re thrilled to feature Paid Social Manager Nina Dans!
What has your time at Socium taught you about the marketing/advertising industry?
I’ve learned that there doesn’t have to be a bunch of red tape or a hierarchy in our industry, and new ideas should always be welcomed. Socium has helped me feel comfortable thinking outside the lines for solutions we can offer our clients, for what we can be doing better, in an environment that encourages innovation.
What made Socium stand out when you were looking for your next adventure?
The benefits and the exciting client work, but mostly the awards for being a great place to work. When you’ve worked in an agency, you know that company culture, work/life balance, and an investment in the people are rare finds. I was intrigued, and I’m glad I made the jump!
What did you use to daydream about being when you grew up?
I always wanted to be an artist when I was younger, and then as I got older, I wanted to be a lawyer. I never dreamt I would be in the ad industry, but I find myself arguing my case for optimized creative pretty frequently, so maybe I found the perfect art/lawyer combo!
What piece of advice would you offer fellow digital marketers?
Allow yourself to occasionally say no, and ensure a work/life balance. Our work never turns off — but that shouldn’t be true for us too. We all care so much about what we do for our clients that it can be hard to take time for ourselves. If we don’t, though, we can only offer so much.
How do you like your coffee?
I love my coffee black and caffeinated, like my heart. Preferably pour over with beans roasted by my husband.
